The Israeli violinist Semion Gavrikov has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, China, Russia and Israel as a soloist and chamber musician. He has taken the stage in numerous prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York City, Jordan Hall in Boston, the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. As a soloist, he has been featured with orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon-Lizion, the Jerusalem Symphony, the Ukrainian National Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and others. His passionate and technical approach and charismatic personality have won him top prizes at the Aviv Competition and the Clermont Competition. Semion Gavrikov has collaborated as chamber musician with numerous influential artists such as Donald Weilerstein, Shlomo Mintz, Julian Rachlin, Vadim Gluzman, Alisa Weilerstein, Misha Maisky, Gil Shaham, Itamar Golan, Itzhak Perlman, Ida Haendel, Frans Helmerson, Daniil Trifonov and others. Born in Ukraine, Semion Gavrikov immigrated to Israel in 1998, where he studied at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music with Irina Svetlova. He has sought out additional educational and performance opportunities by attending festivals such as Dresden Music Festival, Cheltenham Music Festival, Yellow Barn, Perlman Music Program, Keshet Eilon, IMS Prussia Cove and the Colmar Festival in France. In 2013, he graduated from the New England Conservatory in Boston, where he studded with Donald Weilerstein and later served as his assistant. Appointed principal second violin of the Luxembourg Philharmonic in 2019, he previously served as principal second violin of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and was a member of the IPO Richter Quartet as well as a member of the chamber music faculty at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University. He was invited as a guest concertmaster in Seoulās KBS Symphony Orchestra, and in 2019 joined the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. During the last season, Semion Gavrikov served as a guest second violin leader with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and as a tutti player with the Berliner Philharmoniker.
