Jun Qiang started to play the violin at the age of four. She was born in Shanghai and attended the music high school and the local conservatory. At a young age, she was successful in several Chinese violin competitions. After graduating from the conservatory in 2000, she joined the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. In 2003, she left China to continue her studies in Germany at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf in the class of Prof. Michael Gaiser. She volunteered as a student at the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra; later, she was a member of the orchestra academy of the Essen Philharmonic. After obtaining her master’s degree with distinction in 2006, she became a member of the Luxembourg Philharmonic.
