Lukas Sternath ist gebürtiger Wiener.

In seinem Klavierabend spielt er nicht nur Franz Liszts gewichtige Sonate h-moll und Johannes Brahms’ vergleichsweise selten gehörte Händel-Variationen, sondern auch ein eigens für die Reihe «Rising stars» in Auftrag gegebenes Werk der Geigerin und Komponistin Patricia Kopatchinskaja.
