Carlos Ferreira hails from Portugal

He was principal clarinet with the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, now holding the same position at the Orchestre national de France. Together with his compatriot Pedro Emanuel Pereira, who is also a composer, Ferreira will play a work commissioned especially for the «Rising Stars» series from the Chinese composer Lanqing Ding.
