Known in Europe as «whirling dervishes», they are in fact followers of the Mevlevi brotherhood, performing the impressive and highly codified ritual of sama. The group from Damascus will be accompanied on the stage of the Grand Auditorium by the musicians of the Al-Kindi Ensemble, a veritable conservatory of Syrian and Turkish Sufi musical traditions.
