Mahler | Symphony No. 4

Gustavo Gimeno, Miah Persson, Luxembourg Philharmonic

CD Cover | Mahler Symphony 4 | Exterior detail of the Philharmonie by night

Gustavo Gimeno conducts the Luxembourg Philharmonic in Mahler’s Fourth Symphony, a work that blends romanticism with modernism, and featuring soprano Miah Persson in the final movement, «Das himmlische Leben». The album also includes Mahler’s only surviving chamber work, his Piano Quartet, orchestrated by Colin Matthews. This is Gimeno’s fourth PENTATONE release with the orchestra, following albums of Bruckner, Shostakovich, and Ravel, marking a successful collaboration that produced a series of remarkable recordings.
