Friendship permeates the scores and inspires the performers:

this vocal recital will be rather more than the title of the cycle suggests, in that it brings together Christian Gerhaher, his loyal pianist of three decades Gerold Huber, and Tabea Zimmermann. The baritone and viola player will be performing Wolfgang Rihm’s Stabat Mater, dedicated to them, while the trio will be performing to the two Lieder from opus 91 by Johannes Brahms, composed for his friends Amalie and Joseph Joachim.
