About «résonances»

Chopin’s mazurkas with two world stars of the piano!

At the Philharmonie, this important section of Chopin’s output is explored by Grigory Sokolov in December 2024 and by Lang Lang in April 2025. Both combine their selection of mazurkas with a Schumann piano cycle. Lang Lang has chosen Kreisleriana – a cycle full of technical and expressive ambition. Its eight movement titles feature the word «very» six times and once even the term «extremely»!

Why do you love the piano?

For the curious minds

Whether it’s listening to it or even playing it, the piano is definitely a favourite for many people – maybe you included? But what makes it so popular? Let’s have a look together, while we wait for Piano Day on 29.03. – the 88th day of the year, 88 like the number of keys on a piano… clever, right?
