After the advent of pop music in film in the 1960s, symphonic-orchestral accompaniment for films was considered outdated. It was revived, however, by none less than John Williams, whose melodies have earned him more than 50 Oscar nominations. Now the first part of the hit series Indiana Jones (1981) with its famous Raiders March will be performed by the Luxembourg Philharmonic.
